Fallingwater

November 4th, Fauzia and I went out to western Pennsylvania to visit the famous Fallingwater designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. If you have not made it out there, we highly recommend it. The drive from Philly is five hours with beautiful scenery all around. During our visit, we stayed a very interesting Log Cabin Motel (Pictures will be posted soon). Fallingwater is an amazing piece of architecture. We were both very surprised to see how modern the house was, considering it was built in the 1930's. Definitely the best time to visit is in the fall when all the leaves are brightly colored and you can see the whole house through the trees!

Welcome to Chestnut Hill!!! Graced by Vanna Venturi's postmodern home, this chic and quaint suburb of Philadelphia is one of the most sought out burbs in the area. Perhaps we'll buy a house next to Vanna's....

The Amazing View

The view from the top of the stairs is definately worth climbing the stairs.

WOOHOO

Here's Fauzia at the top of the Rocky Stairs!!

Philadelphia Art Museum

The Art Museum was made famous with Rocky when Sylvester Stallone ran up the stairs during his training and then turned around to view the city of Philadelphia from the very top of the stairs. Whenever you go you can see all the tourist and all the kids running up the stairs just like Rocky!

EYE OF THE TIGER !

Continuing with the ROCKY theme, this past weekend we went to the Philadelphia Museum of art, where we got the chance to see the famous rocky statue.

Here we are infront of the Indendence Hall located at the center of Old City, the historic center of Philadelphia.

Amish Boy

Lancaster County

One weekend Fauzia and I drove out to Lancaster county to visit the Amish Country side. It was a bit chilly that day, but it was really nice to get out to the countryside and it see all the Amish Farmland, taste some delicious Amish Shoofly pie, and we even saw several Horse buggys along the highway.

It wouldn't be Philly without ROCKY!!

YO what else is there to say!!

Architecture at Penn

The University of Pennsylvania is currently undergoing a major reconstruction effort. One of the newest buildings was designed by Todd Williams & Billie Tsien. Skirkanich Hall is a new Bioengineering building.

Fauzia and I went to see some of the many historical sites located in Philadelphia. Here we are at the Liberty Bell.

Arrived in Philly

Fauzia and I have arrived in Philadelphia. After a very long trip driving from ATL overnight and arriving in Philadelphia with a druged up cat, we finally got sometime this week to go out and do some sight seeing. One of the first things we saw was the incredible view of the city from atop the City Hall tower. Only 5 people are allowed at a time so it was our own little private viewing of this amazing sight.
